A Fine Childhood

The mouth of a girl who had long lain in the reeds
looked so chewed up.
When we broke the chest, the esophagus was so full of holes.
Finally in a bower under the diaphragm
we found a nest of young rats.
One little sister rat lay dead.
The others were living off liver and kidney,
drinking the cold blood and enjoying
a fine childhood.
And fine and fast was their death too:
we threw the whole bunch into water.
Oh, how those little snouts squeaked!

Gottfried Benn, he was a Nazi in the early 30s, he changed his mind long before germanys defeat. i wonder why they didn' t do anything to him. i mean, Benn was a real nutcase.
I like him.

Not that many drawfags over there.
Besides, it's about drawing an illustration, not about discussing the poem, although I could start a discussion there.
It's also not a request because I don't care if you do it or not, it was meant as an inspiration for you, nothing more.

Ach, Bernd... As if the Nazis weren't real nutcases themselves.
He lived because Heinrich liked him, too. His work was defamed as degenerate, Jewish and homosexual and he was banned from writing in 38 tho. But we should really take the discussion to /dis/ now.
