As we are now running on a private server with completely new software, I'm pretty sure I've fucked up something here and there. Please report any problems in this thread, especially if you're having connection issues (very slow page loads, errors, timeouts, etc...) and it does not appear to be a problem on your end.

Here's a check list for issues at the time of posting: 1. Create /req/. 2. Restore /lit/ threads. 3. Restore archive boards. 4. Implement GUROchan theme. 5. Link irc://irc.rizon.net/guro on the sidebar for easier access. 6. Create board for mod use. 7. Solve problem of [IP: D / S] appearing next to the OP name for as many posts as there are in the thread. Imagine a thread with 200 posts. And not on the check list, I think /art/ is a bit of a redundant board. I understand the difference between general artwork and oekaki but did putting everything in oekaki ever cause a problem?

I have found my old thread on a server called pathtraq.com. Some of you may be able to retrieve some of the threads that have been deleted from Gurochan before they introduced their new website format. All the administrator has to do now is create the '/r/ - Request' board in the side column marked as 'Other' and we could possibly get back some of the requested artwork back. Just type in 'Gurochan' and then your request title from the thread and it should retrieve it through it's server. It may not work for all of the threads. But, it did work for mine.

On a different note, I've noticed that the comment box has a 'password' box that sits on the top left hand corner. Is that password box used for us? Do we have to create a password for our email address and/or comment, or is this box for the Gurochan Administration? What is it used for? So far, I do like the ease of going through the Image boards.

Currently, when you enter "noko" into the email field, it keeps you in reply mode like it should, but it gets rid of noko after you've posted, which means you have to type it in again each time to stay in the thread. It'd be a lot more convenient if noko just stayed in the email field until we're done posting, at which point we can just remember to remove it for the last image. If somebody could fix that up, that'd be just peachy.

Not sure if this can be called issue... I wanted to upload some gurogifs but for images larger than 1MB got: "413 Request Entity Too Large" If i remember correctly the limit used to be 2MB. Any chance you could increase the size limit for GIF images? at least 3MB? There aren't many good gifs below 1MB so that severly cuts down on sharig. Thanks a lot.

That is the format I am looking for but I was wondering if there was a way to get it like that for the art board. It is much easier to follow the topics you are interested that way rather than having to scroll through page after page of stuff that you don't want. After looking at the url you gave, I figured maybe http://gurochan.net/art/list.html would work but that page doesn't exist yet.
My computer tells me that it cannot find the server whenever I try to load /f/, /g/, /s/, /kaki/, or /p2p/. However, /dis/, /lit/, and /req/ load fine. Is there any particular reason behind this? Is anyone else experiencing this problem? I am beginning to miss /f/ in all of its freaky glory...

I feel very sorry for the admin/mod that came up with the idea for a /fur/ board. It did its work well, for me at least, but now it has backfired to people complaining about it being removed. It is truly sad to behold.

On a very long thread, if you click "expand all images", it does not expand ALL the images. A good example is the cannibalism thread in /g/. My estimate is that it's only expanding the first 50.
From what I can tell, if an image is removed, all images after it do not expand. At leats that seemed to eb the cause last I saw it.

I found myself being banned for an hour for writing the name of a left-wing school of political thought, beginning with "s", because it had the name of a brand of medicine popular with linkspammers in it (the pronunciation of the medicine's name sounds rather like words meaning "to take a look at a girl named Alice"). I was writing about Big Government at the time, and considered the "s" word appropriate because I was pointing out how China was stealing America's thunder (and because that's what tea party people were accusing Obama of adhering to). Any idea on how to fix that glitch without inviting linkspam in?

Not sure if this is a site issue but in /lit/ & /dis/ when click on "All Thread" it seems like we can only go to a certain track by clicking on the index number. Click on the titles doesn't seems to bring u anywhere unless they're listed on the main page.

To get the line to appear properly in the above post, I had to put six spaces between words! What is wrong with that specific combination of words that the site adds "I have nothing intelligent to say" right in the middle of a sentence? Can you fix it? Why do the Mods pick and choose who the rules apply to? THREE HOURS BEFORE I was banned for posting an image from and American cartoon, another poster did the same thing. I posted a heavily Guro related image of Rodger, from "American Dad" riding on a raft he constructed out of the dead bodies of prison guards he had killed. One question concerning the rules, since I'm not very sure about it. If I have something in /lit/, and there's a situation when I want to draw attention to it, am I allowed to make a thread saying smth about it? I'll explain: - situation 1: I'm absent for some time and for this time all that was happening in my thread is just questions like "where did he disappear?" etc. So when I appear there again, maybe people won't notice it. Can I make a thread saying just smth like "Hey it's me, I'm back, so if someone was missing, please go to that thread again". No, I meant that for example if I "disappear" for 2 weeks or so, then people would be looking there from time to time but overall they may "abandon" the thread. think the board needs a couple more mods, real and paedo shit got posted in /g/ and i've been seein rule breaks all over the place. The mods do a good job with banning folk but sometimes it takes awhile for shit to come to their attention. Folk don't seem to be seein the rules. i'm on gchan all the time and would be happy to help out if you need a hand in banning and removing stuff against the rules.

Hi Admin, sorry to bother you - there is an unexpected but very worrying problem with some stories I posted in 2007/2008 which are now in the /lit/ archive section. I never thought doing that request would come back and bone my ass. I sent an email to administration AT gurochan DOT net from the email address on the stories to confirm I was the author, and to ask for them to be deleted from the archive because of this issue. I just want to check if that was the correct email address, please, or if I would be better emailing another address - not too keen to link the stories here given the issue. I would delete them directly myself if I could, but the delete post code doesn't seem to work. Very sorry to bother you, knowing how busy you must be. Thanks in advance for your time.

Hi, I'm a long time visitor and starting recently, like a few weeks ago, when loading a new page, it doesn't start at the top by default. It keeps the scroll position where you were when you clicked the link. Like at the bottom on the boards, if you click to go to the next page, the new page will load and keep you there at the bottom. This only happens here on Gurochan, so it's not a problem with my browser or computer that I'm aware of.

The Archives have a shit load of Malware apparently...
When I tried going directly to orz.gurochan.net, and it redirected me to some other site. I got out of there as fast as I could, but I'm still worried I might of had malware installed on my computer. Google said out of the ~360 pages they tested, they only found one with the threat. I really want to know more about whats going on.
Could someone PLEASE Fix the Malware Issue so I could browse the Archives?

Apparently a single line was added to http://orz.gurochan.net/index.html - loading a JavaScript file on a remote server that could potentially infect you if you were running an outdated browser/plugin. This index.html file is not usually hit by users, as it's not linked to and serve no value. The line has been removed and the site should be reviewed by Google soon. For some reason I wasn't notified by Google automatically like usual, so it didn't catch my attention sooner. The archives are still on the old, shared web server and I'm now looking into merging them with the main one.
So soon we'll be able to browse the Archives again? Thank you Anon Admin =D

My steps: Firefox 12.0, Windows 7 everything cleaned (cache, everything) open Firefox visit http://gurochan.net/ site style => [B] News correctly and automatically changes click on FAQ; all ok click on /dis/ => fail: still pink/red click on /f/ or anything => same same for every other section of the site
