My 2c worth: Everyone's art can be improved; via study, practice, and experiment. Most people merely learn to do what they like, and do not study farther.
It is wise to consider the audience. This forum has a stated purpose, the appreciation of drawn art. There is a bias against manipulations... which is largely justified.
You cannot improve upon a problem you cannot observe. No one can notice everything. Don't be butthurt by a criticism merely because it is from an asshole. Don't be an asshole unless it is necessary... or really amusing to others.
Anti-Aliasing... google it, you can learn a lot. It's a serious problem when working in digital art. There are a number of ways to deal with it, but the key is to notice the harsh lines... and do something. If you don't see it, you may have a crappy monitor, but you certainly are not zooming in on these shops to see what is changed, and comparing it to the lines that are natural. I've tweaked one of the shops, since, well... let us say I have my doubts that anyone else would take up the challenge. ^_^
>>37683 Hey, I actually did start with MSPaint! It's been 14 years, and some of those bastards took me a very long time to make only half-crappy. I started making them because I saw some utter drek online and thought I could probably do better. Sadly, even with MSPaint... I was RIGHT. XD I've learned a lot since then, and found better tools... but there's a hell of a lot to learn.
It's really hard to get good constructive criticism. It's really really hard to receive it, if you get it. Last time someone tried to teach me a trick, it took me ages to figure out how to apply it. I couldn't see how it was supposed to work, or how it made my life easier.
I hope and I pray, if you are going to complain about someone's work... that you prove you can do that tiny bit better. To earn the right to be respected for your opinion, and not just possess it. We make this place awesome by making awesome art! The more awesome we can make it, and each other, the better.
