It remains some of my favourite scat art, and I was considering a commission but this latest effort looks like I might not get my money's worth (mind you, how much money that is I don't know). Apart from the character design everything's been taken from other drawings - all of which are better individually. It's also very conservative on the brown. Where are all the other great outrageous larking effluvious fireman's hose-sized anti-plumbing movements that so graced previous works?
I cannot judge however. What I see may well have been completely specified by the commissioner and it was created for him/her/them first and foremost. Lord knows I'm grateful to see any of these works at all, but nonetheless, as merely an admirer, I cannot help but feel dissapoint.
